education
program designed to support parents in their role as
their child's first and most influential teacher.
This home-school-community
partnership is
FREE and VOLUNTARY for all families of children
ages 0-5 residing within Mitchell County.
Parents as Teachers offers:
Personal Visits that
help parents understand what to expect in each stage of your
child's development, with practical tips and shared play activities to
promote growth
in all areas of development.
Group Meetings and Play
Groups that offer an opportunity to enhance parenting
skills and to participate in parent-child activities.
Screenings to assess
your child's overall development including health, hearing,
and vision.
Resources and Referrals to
link families with community services and toy, book,
and video lending libraries.
