Mrs. Hosie lives in Concordia with her husband Darrel who is retired from the Kansas Extension Service. He operates two mobile businesses he created after his retirement - a document shredding service and a seed cleaning business. Their daughter Rita is a graduate of Kansas State University with a minor in Chemistry and two degrees - Bakery Science and Management and Food Science and Technology. She is a Product Manager with General Mills in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Her work has taken her on travels to many locations in the United States, as well as to Canada and parts of Asia. The Hosie's son Matt graduated Magna Cum Laude from Bethany College with a degree in Math. He also has a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Kansas State University and a Master's Degree in Athletic Training from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He is a math teacher and the trainer for all sports at Salina South High School in Salina, Kansas. The current school year is Mrs. Hosie's 20th year working at Beloit Schools. She enjoys her drive to Beloit every day because she appreciates how her students are willing to challenge themselves while always trying to think outside the box!
