Scholars' Bowl is an activity with regulations and guidelines governed by the Kansas State High School Activities Association.  It is not a club or organization.  Scholars' Bowl Manual published by KSHSAA.  The 16 question meet format is based on Kansas curriculum and includes on Foreign Language question;  Three each in Language Arts, Social Science, Math, and Science/Health; two in Fine Arts; and one in Year-in-Review.  The Year-In-Review question must come from articles in the current year's TIME, NEWSWEEK, or U.S. NEWS & WORLD REPORT.  Specific rules govern team and individual conduct at meet and how team members may answer questions.

Beloit High School began participation in Scholars' Bowl in 1990. In its short history, B.H.S. has advanced to State six times- in '93,'94,'95,'96,'98,and '99. The 1996 and 1999 teams won third place trophies at State. The 1999 team also won their Regional Championship. Past teams have done very well at Washburn University/WIBW High-Q competition. Twice the team advanced to the televised rounds. At the Butler County Community College High-Q Competition in 1999,B.H.S. won the runner-up trophy in overall competition after advancing to the TOP 16. They  also won 2nd in  Class 3A. Beloit won Varsity  N.C.A.A League Championship in 1998,1999,and 2000.
