American Cultural History - The 20th Century - These research guides by the decade provide an excellent overview of what happened in the U.S. during the 19th & 20th centuries.

Eye Witness to History:  20th century - An award-winning website presenting history through the perspective of those who actually lived it - from the ancient world through the 20th century.

Awesome Stories -  primary-source information created to help educators and individuals find original sources located at national archives, libraries, universities, museums, historical societies and government-created web sites.

American Studies:  The 1930's - The University of Virginia hosts this site on the 1930's

Infoplease Almanac - Includes a "Year by Year Chronology: 1900 - 2008, a "This Day in History" section, biographical information on more than 30,000 people, etc.

HistoryNet - Contains daily features, photo galleries and over 5,000 articles originally published in HistoryNet's various magazines, covering almost every period of history.

American Memory - Collections of primary source materials from the Library of Congress.  Includes a "Today in History" section with information on what happened in American history every day of the year.

National Archives - Good source for primary documents from American history
