Creating an FSA ID for the FAFSA

June 24, 2017

Seniors!!! THE FAFSA (FREE APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL STUDENT AID) BECOMES AVAILABLE OCTOBER 1, 2017.

In order to begin that, here is some information YOU ABSOLUTELY NEED TO KNOW AND TAKE CARE OF: If you will be filling out your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) beginning October 1, 2017, you need to set up your FSA ID prior to that.

Here is how you can get that set up: Cut and paste the URL below and watch this brief but informative Federal Webinar and/or read the attached document below. https://fsatraining.acms.com/p7hec0edur6/?launcher=false&fcsContent=true&pbMode=normal

Be sure to set up your FSA ID and help your “FAFSA parent” set up their FSA ID also. You and your parent will need an FSA ID.

When FAFSA season starts on October 1, 2017…you don’t want to miss deadlines because of a delay caused by an FSA ID!

The FAFSA PIN was retired in May 2015….FSA ID is YOUR ONLY way into the FAFSA and the other Federal Websites.

Just for the record - it does NOT matter how much money your parents make!! You should all fill out the FAFSA because you can ALL qualify for student loans. The only way you would not want to fill out the FAFSA is if you are paying out of pocket for your education.
