Math ACT: 22 or higher OR
Math SAT: 540 or higher OR
ALEKS PPL: 46 or higher OR
Accuplacer QAS: 263 or higher OR
HS GPA and Course Grade: 3.25 cumulative GPA (unweighted) and B- or higher in Second semester Algebra 2 or Integrated Math 3 OR
Institutional Measure* (including professional discretion)
If you would like to take College Essential Math or College Statistics as a junior or senior, you must meet one of the multiple measures below:
Math ACT: 19 or higher OR
Math SAT: 510 or higher OR
ALEKS PPL: 30 or higher OR

Registered Apprenticeship for Agricultural Technicians at Carrico Implement

Registered Apprenticeship for Agricultural Technicians at Carrico Implement:
This apprenticeship provides a paid on-the-job training experience while students are completing their education. All general education and technical coursework toward the Agricultural Technician Associate Degree will be fully paid for by Carrico Implement, with the exception of program fees, drug testing, and resource materials.
Students must be at least 17 years old to apply for this program.
Upon successful completion of the program and earning the Associate Degree, apprentices are guaranteed full-time employment with Carrico Implement for five years. This pathway offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience, industry-recognized credentials, and a secure career with a respected employer in the agricultural industry.

The course begins September 21st and spots are limited.
Cost: $20 for high school students
Must be 18-years-old by October 30, 2026 to take this course.

NOTE: Students cannot miss clinicals; attendance is required in ALL class and clinical sessions.
Check the clinical locations and schedules before registering in the class to make sure it fits your schedule. If you have other commitments (sports, clubs, a job, etc.) this may be difficult to do.

Dane Hansen 4-Year Scholarship Qualifying Test Information:
For those of you planning to attend a 4-year university or a 2-year institution and then transfer into a 4-year university:
If you have a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA and a minimum of a 23 composite score on the ACT (no superscore allowed), then you are eligible to take the Dane Hansen Scholarship qualifying test.
You must submit your name to me no later than September 3rd (in order for me to put you on our Beloit High School testing list and have that list submitted to them by the deadline of September 4th). Email me, leave me a note, or notify me in person that you are wanting on this list. I will then submit this list to the Dane Hansen Foundation.
Fort Hays State University and Wichita State University Informational Event

FHSU is having a collaborative event with Wichita State University in Salina on September 15, 2026. This event will be mostly informational for students and families and give you an opportunity to explore both schools on the same night!

The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship, providing recipients with the opportunity to achieve their goals and graduate college debt-free. The scholarship provides $2,000 to help pay for essential items to attend college and up to $7,500 each semester for up to 8 consecutive semesters.

FHSU Health & Behavioral Science Day

FHSU Health & Behavioral Science Day!
FHSU will be hosting a fall College of Health and Behavioral Sciences Day at Fort Hays State University, Friday, October 9, 2026. This all-day free event is open to high school students who are currently juniors and seniors in the 2026-2027 school year.
Students will:
- Visit all six departments in the College of Health and Behavioral Sciences (Allied Health, Communication Sciences and Disorders, Health and Human Performance, Nursing, Psychology, and Social Work). If you are not interested in these fields of study, then this particular event is not one you would want to sign up for.
- Learn about academic, career, and other unique educational opportunities within these departments.
- Tour academic facilities, including clinical and simulation labs within these departments.
- Engage with faculty, staff, and students in each of the six departments.
Transportation is not provided by BHS. If you choose to attend, you will be responsible for lining up your own transportation. This would count as a college visit, so you would need to fill out a college visit permission slip and turn it in to me as well.
